Volunteer with the Montgomery County Republican Party

 

Any organization is only as good as its volunteers. Our party is a all-volunteer organization driven by people with passion and commitment. You can help make a difference in Montgomery County by volunteering. Volunteer opportunities include:

  • Joining a committee or subcommittee

  • Joining a club

  • Helping organize an upcoming event

  • Helping with a voter registration drive

  • Helping on Election Day

  • Working a telephone bank calling other voters

  • Host a house party

Event Coordinator

The Event Coordinator organizes and coordinates internal and public events, activities, and appearances. The Event Coordinator helps plan and organize all facets of events. This entails securing appropriate locations, organizing participants, notifying potential audiences, gathering relevant materials and equipment, and on-site assistance the day of an event. This person will recruit and lead others dedicated to hosting successful events.

Helping on Election Day

We are interested in hiring another Republican Election Judge recruiter. This would be a full time, temporary position, paying a bit more than $17 per hour, and time and half for overtime (by January 1st, the standard work week for recruiters will be about 60 hours a week, and likely will increase before the primary election on February 12th). It takes us a couple of weeks to process new hires through the county personnel system. We would expect a new recruiter to have full time employment through January 2009. Any candidate should be a registered Republican in the state of Maryland. Montgomery County residence is a plus but not mandatory.

If the Montgomery County Republican Party knows anyone who would be interested, please have them call or e-mail me as soon as possible. The position announcement is on the county web site (www.montgomerycountymd.gov) under “careers,” then “apply on line,” and then “Board of Elections.” Interested individuals should apply against the Election Aide II announcement, Requisition ID 2774. There have been over 200 applicants against this announcement, which is being used for other requirements as well, so interested persons should contact me to ensure that I look for their application.
