Martha Schaerr
Volunteer in the Sptlight - January 2007


Martha is an active volunteer and leader within the Montgomery County Republican Party. She is the Party's District 19 Legislative Chair. She is the captain of our ground game in D19 which incorporates parts of Rockville, Olney, Silver Spring, Wheaton and Laytonsville. She is a tireless volunteer. Martha is responsible for recruiting and managing volunteers.

 

Martha was the past volunteer campaign manager for the Campaign for Change Slate Committee. Campaign for Change was a slate of Republican candidates in the 2006 election. Martha also served as a legislative district chair for the 2004 Bush Re-election Campaign.

 

Martha studied communications at BYU and served a LDS mission in Japan. Martha is married to Gene Schaerr who is an attorney and a former associate counsel to the President of the United States. Martha is a dedicated parent and stay-at-home mom for their seven children. She has taught and led children’s and women’s church organizations and has held numerous PTA positions. She is currently the Magruder High School PTSA president and president of Citizens for Traditional Families.
