Ruth Melson
Volunteer Spotlight
Ruth is an active volunteer and leader within the Montgomery County Republican Party. She was the co-chair for the Montgomery County Republican Party Convention on February 3, 2007. She is also taking over as Legislative Chair for District 16
Ruth very successfully served as the "Montgomery County Phone-Bank Committee Chair" for the Michael Steele Senate Campaign. Primarily due to Ruth's efforts at recruiting phone bank volunteers, Montgomery County consistently met and exceeded the Campaign's and generally MCGOP's phone bank targets. At any one time during the final week before election day, there were more than 15,000 calls made per day. She made of all of us look good.
Ruth calls herself a Ronald Reagan Conservative Republican. Before the Ehrlich-Steele Campaign, she was one of the volunteers for President Bush’s 2004 Inaugural Candlelight Dinner at Union Station. Having recently retired from FDIC, Ruth look forward to devoting more time to the Montgomery County Republican Party, in addition to her general community volunteer work: on the Board of Directors and Executive Committee of The Woman’s Club of Chevy Chase; active member of St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, Kensington, Maryland; and PEO Chapter C.
